Ormazabal is to supply the Medium Voltage cubicles in March 2008 for the San Esteban Substation (132/20 kV), in Asturias (Spain), owned by the utility Hidroeléctrica del Cantábrico, S.A. The extension of this substation with 6 new 20 kV outputs will enable them to modernise and improve the conditions of the electricity supply in the area.
This installation is made up of a set of CPG.1 range Primary Distribution cubicles with double busbar architecture, which is characterised by its gas insulation technology, with lifelong sealed compartments, and with a design that enables the assembly process to be carried out on-site, without having to handle the SF6.
The high level of safety for people and the reliability of the CPG.1 cubicles have been guaranteed after having performed and passed all the tests laid down by the current international standards, including the internal arc withstand test in all of its compartments up to 31.5 kA /1s in accordance with the IEC62271-200 standard.
